Updates to the CompTIA A+ exams to include Windows 7

Hi Guys after a very busy August I'm back first bit of news is on the A+ certification.

Windows 7 has been picking up speed since its introduction in 2009. To reflect this important technology development, the CompTIA A+ advisory committee recommends adding Windows 7 content to the existing CompTIA A+ exam objectives that relate to operating systems. The new content will be added as a rolling change to existing exams, with changes taking effect beginning January 2011. Existing exam content in the affected objectives will remain unchanged.

 

The following exam objectives will be affected by this change:

 

• Exam 220-701: Objective Domains 3.0 and 4.0
• Exam 220-702: Objective Domain 2.0 and 4.0

Prometric Exam Registration outage for Sunday the 22nd of August

Beginning Sunday, August 22, 2010, at 8 AM Eastern Standard Time, Prometric’s scheduling and registration system will be down for a planned system validation. The system will be unavailable for approximately 8 hours. During the outage, you will not be able to register for any exams.

While registration will not be possible during the outage, sites will be able to deliver exams as long as the appointments were scheduled in advance, meaning that walk in registrations may not be possible at most test centers during this outage. If you’re planning to take an exam during this time, register now!
